Baobab Seed Oil Mill Plant

Baobab Seeds are separated and cleaned to remove impurities such as dust, metal, plant stalks. The cleaning process can reduce equipment friction, ensure safe operation, reduce oil loss, improve life of wear parts, increase yield and improve butter and meal quality.

We provide a multi-deck vibrating seed cleaner that comes with a dust collection box and an aspiration system. To better meet our clients’ needs, it is offered in a range of sizes and capacities.

Oil content of baobab seeds is about 10 – 30%.

The cleaned Baobab Seeds are subjected to conditioning in a vertical / horizontal stack cooking kettle. The kettle uses steam for indirectly heating the Baobab Seeds. The kettle is specially designed to achieve a temperature of minimum 110°C at the outlet with a retention time of minimum 60 minutes.

The principal object of Seed Cooking / Conditioning.

• Adjust the moisture content of the meal to an optimum level;
• Easy Rupture cell walls;
• Reduce viscosity of oil;
• Coagulate the protein in the meal to facilitate separation of the oil from protein.

Baobab seeds that have been conditioned are fed into the press chamber. Within the chamber, a screw turns, increasing pressure by shortening the screw pitch’s length in the direction of axial motion. As the pressed cake continues to travel in the direction of the shaft, a steadily rising pressure is used to extract the oil, which escapes via the slit on the chamber.

Crude baobab oil, containing 5-6% suspended particles, is transferred into an oil tank for purification via a Filter Press.

A boiler is utilized to generate steam from water, which is then directed through a pipeline connected to a cooking kettle for seed conditioning. We offer both vertical and horizontal multi-tubular shell type smoke tube boilers. Our boilers are compatible with various fuels, including coal, shells, husk, wood, other agricultural waste, furnace oil, diesel and gas.

The boiler package will be supplied complete with an air pre-heater, air and flue gas ducting, refractory and insulation, ID fan, FD fan, feed water pump, level gauges, safety valves, rotary airlock valves, chimney and other necessary components.

A Bucket elevator is a simple equipment used to transport bulk materials vertically. The most common use for this equipment is for moving baobab seeds into an oil mill equipment from the ground.

Screw conveyors are used to transfer raw materials from storage silos to oil mill equipment or vice versa.
