Machinery & Equipment required to setup a Virgin Coconut Oil Mill Plant

VCO Oil Extraction Plant Process
For VCO extraction, the fresh whole coconuts undergo the following steps: Coconut De-Husking, De-Watering, De-Shelling, Coconut Meat Disintegrating, Hot Air Drying, Cold Pressing, Oil Filtration & Storage.
The Coconut Meat ball is pre-cut in coconut Pre-cutter followed by Blanching.
Steam blanching is done to down the microbial level of the product to a minimal value.
The washed & blanched coconut meat is then sent to DC Cutter to disintegrate the meat into fine particles. At this stage, the meat is now ready for drying.
DC Drying & Cooling
The disintegrated coconut meat is sent to Drier to convert it to Desiccated coconut (DC).
The drier consists of perforated SS trays which allows the Hot air to pass through and dry the pulverised coconut meat.
The retention time is controlled using a Variable speed drive for maintaining output moisture less than 3% and also retaining the natural white colour of Desiccated coconut powder (DC)
The dry DC is cooled by axial fans & ambient air before storage.
The DC powder can now be used for VCO extraction.
We have a specially designed cold press for VCO extraction.
It is a Single Chamber Expeller having All steel fabricated body with Geared Motor, Stainless Steel Cast Chambers, Stainless Steel Worms, cage bars, Main Shaft having Water Cooling Arrangement, Stainless Steel Oil Collection Tank and all necessary accessories.
After a Single stage pressing, about 55 % VCO is recovered, a residual oil of 18-20% is left in the meal.
The VCO is subjected to the clarification & Filtration section, while the meal can be sold as Low fat Coconut flour.
The expelled VCO contains a certain amount of foots and fines that need to be removed. Vibro-separator can be optionally used to preclean the oil prior to final filtration in Filter press.
We Offer Plate type / Plate & Frame Type Filter Presses. The plates are made from Stainless Steel or Polypropylene material. We can also provide Hydraulic Pull back systems for ease of operation & maintenance.
