The Niger seed contains 40 – 45 % oil content and double pressing is required to extract maximum oil, 9 – 11 % residual oil is left in the Niger meal which is an excellent source of Animal Feed.

The Niger Seeds are conditioned using Steam in a Vertical Cooking Kettle.

Under the condition of high pressure in the chamber, the friction between the material and the pressing screw is very large, which causes the friction between the material and the embryo, and causes the relative movement. On the other side, the diameter of the screw is gradually increased, and when the screw is rotated, the thread can cause the embryo to push forward and turn outwards. At the same time, the material layer close to the surface of the screw thread rotates with the pressing shaft, so that each particle in the pressing chamber is not in the same direction with the same speed, and the relative motion exists between the particles.

A filter press is a piece of equipment that separates solids from crude rapeseed oil.

After extraction, crude niger oil moves into an oil tank as it contains foots which is removed by the filter press.
